Saguaro Impressions

Since coming to Arizona I have developed a love for saguaro: their quirkiness, beauty, geometric precision (their spines are all in the same distinct pattern grouping!) not to mention personality! I used an intuitive painting technique, starting by writing my poem “Desert Continuum” across the bare canvas. I then applied MANY layers of marks, shapes, drips and colors until I was ready to finalize my Saguaro Impressions. I hope you enjoy the richness, depth and mystique this technique offers.
