Footed Bi-Metal Trinket Box
Bi-metal footed trinket box is a study in bi-metal inlay techniques. Each section of the box shows a different fused metal composition. The stepped lid base is brass with copper fused inlay dots. The raised step on the box lid is a sterling silver base with copper inlay fused dots. The 4 sided box is composed of copper and inlayed with fused sterling silver wires.. The box is raised on 4 sided inlayed lapis feet. The lid is held together with a three knuckle hinge and snaps shut with a nice clicking clasp. Part of the fun of a box like this is to open and close the box, hearing a lovely “snap”.
